OpenID is a distributed authentication protocol where you use your Web URL as a means of identification. If you already have an OpenID account, perhaps at LiveJournal or at MyOpenID, then you can use a URL similar to:
http://<username>.livejournal.com/ or http://<username>.myopenid.com/
